We encourage our Representatives of the Government of the United States of America, in regards to the horrific events of September 11, 2001, to:

· Seek a nonviolent resolution, one based on a multinational democratic process, with suspects brought before the World Court.

· Avoid the cycle of violence perpetrated by vengeful retaliation.

· Practice a conflict-preemptive foreign affairs policy that strengthens relations with other nations instead of creating selective allies based on cultural and economic biases.

· Create a permanent Conflict Prevention Commission for Foreign Policy, made up of academics and law makers alike, to study the acts and monitor the relations of the U.S. and other nations, and make recommendations for policies that advocate harmony rather than provoke retaliation.

It is imperative that the United States sets a new precedence for peaceful and democratic conflict resolution for the new millennium. If violent retaliation were capable of ending violence, this world would have eradicated violence thousands of years ago.

We hereby endorse this statement of a Peaceful and Democratic Resolution,
